The OUNL experts participating in IMPRESS are with the faculty Management, science en technologie (MST). MST is both on a national and international scale a leading institute in computer science, software engineering and learning sciences.

UCM is one of the largest Universities in Spain and in Europe. The University comprises 21 schools plus 39 university research institutes, with more than 180 departments. The UCM experts participating in IMPRESS are within the e-UCM research group, part of the Department of Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence in the School of Computer Science of UCM. e-UCM is specialized in Learning Technologies and e-learning, the group focuses on developing methods, techniques and tools to simplify the production and maintenance of standards-compliant educational applications and e-learning systems.

INESC-ID is a not for profit, privately owned institution of public interest, dedicated to advanced research and development in the domains of electronics, telecommunications and information technologies. Researchers at INESC-ID are in their vast majority university staff and graduate students. INESC-ID initiated activity in the year 2000 as a result of a reorganization of INESC. The principal objectives of INESC-ID are to conduct cutting-edge research in the fields of information technology and to transfer technology to the industry by means of R&D contracts and training courses.

Founded in 1636, Utrecht University has evolved into a modern and leading institution with a growing international reputation. The university offers its almost 30.000 students 45 undergraduate programmes and 153 graduate programmes. UU experts participating in IMPRESS are located in the department of Information and Computing Sciences (ICS) which is a leading centre of academic research into serious games and virtual worlds in Europe. It coordinates the university focus area Game Research and the centre for Game Research and Technology (U-GATE, www.u-gate.nl).

The University of Passau(UoP) is a public research university located in Passau, Lower Bavaria, Germany. It is the youngest university in Bavaria (founded in 1973) and has the most modern campus in the state.
